Finished : SL55 w/700hp by Evosport (pictures)
So Jose and his crew at Evosport in Huntington Beach, CA finished their work on my SL55. The result is a beast of a car. The car has close to 700hp and is louder than your wife. Lol! In short, they did an amazing job and although there were a few hickups on the way (some delays due to them getting some wrong parts) it was well worth the wait. I've attached some pictures (not the best I know, but I'll do a photoshoot once I have new rims) but I wish you guys could HEAR it. It just sounds incredible. Headers, pulley, air filter, ECU tuneup, the whole enchilada. I went with the evosport 3 package but with modifications to that. We blacked out the emblems, painted the mercedes star red, painted the calipers, put custom graphics on it and they did a beautiful red engine cover. Smoked tail lights, painted the center console glossy black and did the grill in matte black finish. It now outruns my gallardo EASILY. It's a little sad in a way but..
...overall I'm one extremely happy customer and strongly recommend these guys for people looking to do theirs.

Very nice. Looking forward to more pics. I just finished a 180mm pulley and ECU upgrade, and now it sounds like a beast and pulls like a freight train! Can't imagine what yours sounds like with headers and your mods...Nice selection.

What exhaust mods besides shorty headers? Still have cats? I only ask because I've got cams, headers, race cats, and Meisterschaft Race exhaust and it's not terribly loud at idle or cruising. Full acceleration is a different story though

Hey Benzo, I know you don't have the dreaded lean #8 issue from high HP like us 55k guys, but does it strike you odd that RT, Kleemann and EvoSport seem unconcerned about it with engines producing 500 + WHP and all the modding guys on the E boards and EC are big advocates of fuel rail and injectors for protection?

I asked Cory @ Kleemann about this before I bought my modded SL and he said that as long as I was running the Kleemann tune w/ Kleemann mods, I shouldn't be worried. Maybe its a conservative tune?

^ Yeah, I am in a quandary about it myself. I have a mishmash of mods from RT and EvoSport plus a European 80 TB, but I have an EC dyno tune which I am told is conservative. Still, I don't do a lot of hard pulls to the top of 3rd which is were many old number 8s have become toast.
