Raffi...oh there will be some cutting and modifying involved. I'm confident it will look good...That pic I posted above was from Prior and was told by them "adjustments" were needed to make the tips fit.

I'm a little jealous.

Update:

The upholsterer's cast is off and he can start working his way back into finishing the door panels and seats (only things not redone yet).

Brembo BBK (Big Brake Kit) were re-done and have been put on the car...fitment with the Rotiforms were great...clearance was fine.

The rear deck with the wing on pedestals was mocked up and doesn't look bad at all...going ahead with it. The wing went to the CF subcontractor and we have a metal shop to fab the metal posts that will be threaded into a plate formed into the rear wing and will be fastened under the rear deck...we are fabricating a collar around the area of the rear deck where the posts come through for a finished look.

Some more CF parts came back...instrument bezel and front vent fins.

It went off to our CF guy...he is working on it now and should be done later this week...

The metal plates for the posts will be screwed and bonded under the CF...should be interesting...

Steve...its a local guy (Tampa) that does CF work on the side. His main job was working in a chrome shop (for years) and now he got his realtors license and plans to do that and the CF. The guy is really good and **** about his work...he'll redo a piece until its done right.

I got tired of sending **** out to Taiwan and waiting weeks, months, and some cases a year to get stuff back...we have great turnaround time and quality control is top notch with him in my backyard.

Thx...its an older Kenwood DNX unit probably 4 yrs old now...but still works great. I have an updated replacement on the way...just more bells and whistles.

Your builds are more like frame off restorations done multi levels better than stock, then add supremely tasteful aftermarket modifications, makes my previous builds remedial at best.. Seriously impressive my MAN!

Thanks for the quick reply. Will your new unit interface with the steering wheel controls? If so, would you share the model #?

Thanks in advance.

This build is coming along well and I admire your patience for perfection. What did you do with your old bumpers and the revosport diffuser?

And are you going with a dnx990hd or dnx991hd? Or are you changing brands altogether?

Man this project is dragging...it's been a year now. There will be a come to Jesus meeting with the upholsterer on Monday. He's great at what he does but he's slow as molasses right now...

He's a one man shop and to be honest with you I just don't think the SL is a priority...taking smaller jobs to make ends meet...I'm open to paying on a weekly basis based on hours worked but for some reason he's unable to do it that way.

We are about to move on if Monday doesn't go well...

Here's the update:

1. All of the interior panels and roll cage are done except for the seats and door panels...which we might be done by someone else if Monday goes bad. The carbon fiber bits are all ready to go on...the interior will get put together on Monday sans seats and door panels.

2. The rear wing is now CF and will be done after this weekend (final clear coat and polishing). We have the metal fabricator all ready to go for the metal posts for the rear wing...final wing angle and fitment will start next week.

3. Brembo brakes are on and wheels will get on last.

4. The steering wheel/sun visors is done and ready to ship back...the air bag will be dyed to match the leather wrap...the CF portion of the steering wheel was kept.

The rear wing came back from CF conversion. They are test fitting it for the correct angle...the pics below show them with temporary pedestals. The actual pedestals will be aluminum posts (done with a bit of flair though). They will be threaded into the bottom of the wing which have special plates fixed under the CF layer. For our purposes, the lower the height the better but with an aggressive angle that will look good and may actually be functional (you can only hope....

The CF on the wing is impeccable. I can't wait for the new rear diffuser to come back from CF treatment so we can visually balance the back end...having a CF wing and not doing the rear diffuser wouldn't look right (well at least to us). The diffuser you see in the pics is the Revozport diffuser I had on the original build...I changed it to a newer version (pic of it is in earlier post but in satin black)...I just didn't think the Revozport looks right with the new look so we made the change...

The Rotiform will go on as the last thing to go on (they will look spectacular) but the Brembro BBK are already on. A lot of small trim details still need to go on the exterior...like CF trim badging, CF SL63 side mirrors, front CF spoiler lip, and I'm sure I'm forgetting something...

The interior reassembly trudges on next week...the back panels and the pop roll bar pieces are in house and going in. The door panels and seats (I can't wait for those since they will be redone in a more Aston Martin style) are next to be done.

Once the aesthetics are done...I plan to drive her for at least the end of the year and then it'll go to Switzer Performance for beta testing. It'll be a test bed for some performance modifications...standalone ECU (Syvecs), flex fuel, better cooling, better traction (dealing with wheel slippage), and yeah...more hp/tq. Goal is 1000whp...it can be done power wise but doing it with usability and reliability is also the goal. Can it be done? Not sure but it'll be fun to see what happens.

Here are pics of wing:

Wow looks good. Interior is nicer than a real BS, exterior is spot on and the roof goes down still! Awesome car and I bet your total investment will still be a lot less than buying a BS
