SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: '09 SL63 DIY Air Filter Replacement
Being as **** as I am, I'd like to access the air filters to make sure that the filters are clean and that the air intakes are free of any potential debris. I've searched this and other Benz forums and the internet in general, but haven't found any instructions on how to do it.
Can anyone hear help?
Thanks in advance.
Jonathan
-remove engine cover
-back out all of the torx crews surrounding both filter housings(where the "AMG" print is)
-once all of the torx bits are completely loosened, you can use the torx screws to lift up on the housing and separate it from the base of the air tube assembly. You'll have enough room to slide the filters out and inspect them. I vacuumed out the debris that had accumulated in the bottom of each filter housing.
-reinstall in reverse order. Be sure NOT to over tighten. Just snug everything down.
