i have some single red leds on the way. plus an led light strip. i plan to use the red led to illuminate behind each lens, then run a white 10" strip up the inside upper portion of the headlight. my car should look super pissed off all the time, lol. 2 red eyeballs and a white slanted eyebrow. i will switch the red leds on a relay that will turn them off when the headlights thenselves are powered on so i don't get a weird pink light or anything.
this is a predesign, actual may differ if it looks like crap, haha.
I was thinking something similar to what your thinking.... similar to this picture:

Except having the strip continue to the upper line as well... Then I thought it might be too ricey and audi poser looking.. i dunno still thinking about it.

The red eyeball look I always loved.. i've been watching this video for about a week now thinking how it will look on our cars.

It's kinda scary how we have the same ideas going on.

PS: I have a spare 2.9" projector lens that I took out of an SL500 light, and it just slips right through the openings of the high beam housing. The opening is about 3.0 wide behind the high beam bezel.

lol. that vid is pretty cool. lots of cool products on their site. there really isn't alot of ways to mount leds inside since the areas facing forward are so narrow. i was planning to make an L shaped bracket to hold it and almost be able to get away with it looking stock.
all my leds and lenses will be coming over the next week and will give it a shot.
with 3-4 of us modding our lights at the same time, and many being done before, it is hard to be original with it, lol.

it passes through the shroud also? if so, looks like i will have to make a little bracket. maybe a large dia thick O-ring will do it.

Yep passes through the shroud also, maybe a 1mm clearance between the lens and the shroud with my 2.9" lens. There is about 2mm clearance in the "space" between the shroud and the bezel behind it so making the lens a 3.2" overall diameter would make it fit pretty damn snug.

hmmm, won't know till i get it. just said 3" dia. lens. hoping that is the lens itself, then the little flange will make it big enough. i'm sure i can figure something out though if need be.

Cool, keep us posted. My facelift is almost coming to a finish as well, gonna pick up an SL65 BS hood within this week or next and start painting everything. Called the dealer today for ****s and giggles and the price of an OEM Black series hood is $5,900. Not as bad as I expected, but still costs more than an old civic.

black series hood is about $2K from Prior
if you can find a way to mount the 2.9 i believe it will be pretty damn snug
the key on mounting a projector on the high beam is you have to mount it behind the brezel a little bit, because the diameter of the inner housing is tighter , that way the projector won't "pop" out so much and it will match the low beam projector if you look from the side. mine is already done, but I'm too lazy to post pictures....

After countless hours of blood, sweat and tears... ( the blood and tears mainly from the damn sharp angles of sanding this damn thing) I finally got around to prepping the pieces for primer and paint.

Yep gonna shoot the whole thing with gloss black unless anything hits me within these couple of days.

Gonna keep the shrouds the stock silver/chrome to give it at least some kind of contrast.

i just got done with an extensive search about the "demon eyes" thing. looks like it will be deemed illegal almost everywhere. i think i will get a controller for mine and just light them enough to just bairily get the red color. they will be fused off right when lights turn on for night time.

Hah yeah I had that in mind.. impersonating a police officer is not a small fine. I'm just gonna wire my set to be based off an on/off switch.

Any progress from you guys? Mine turned out to be complete **** and have to re-primer and re spray. I used the wrong primer ( rustoleum plastic primer or whatever the hell it is from autozone) and after the initial base coat, the whole thing started webbing and peeling off. Pretty pissed.

been so busy on the body, i have been leaving lights alone. needed them in place for setting all the gaps.
i may paint car first and then worry about the lights. i may even keep them chrome and just brush the wheels. will still have dual projectors and leds inside though.

Any updates from you guys? lol. As for me, I finally decided on a color to paint my headlights and having them done tomorrow. I'm gonna match the paint (dark grey from jaguar) with other parts on my car for a nice two-tone look, such as the fender grills, front grill, wheels, engine covers, badges, etc..

Ditched the black idea as that kind of kills the detail in everything.

Gonna take these babies apart tomorrow.
