also, one new update. This has happened 2x now. I go to start the vehicle after driving it relatively hard (I did allow the car to run for about 30-45 seconds when I arrived at my destination before turning the car off) with about an hour in-between the stop / start and the car sputtered and wouldn't start. It was a strange sputter. I immediately pulled out the code reader and looked for any codes that may have been thrown, but didn't find any. I then let the car sit in the on position for a 3-4 minutes and tried to start it again. This time it did start but it was a sputtered start.

Has anyone else had this experiences? All these little gremlins started happening right after replacing the coil pack.

Is it worth going in and re-seating the coil pack? Any recommendations? The power loss is still present, but still intermittent.

Thanks.
Hello.

If I was you I would check the fuel pump (pressure)+ fuel filter also.... only to be sure it work correctly.....

For example, ( If) The pump develop 120 L / hour. Take of the fuel pressure line pipe and put it in a ( for example ) a bottle and run the engine and do it in 15 sek time. 120 L / hour / 3600 sek = 0,03L / sek. 15 sek * 0,03L = 0,5L.
So if you run the engine in 15 sek you would have 0,5L fuel at the bottle.
If not the pump or the fuel filter is in a bad condition.
This is only an example... I don't know how big the mercedes fuel pump is.
Of course you must take of the coil pack cables so the engine is not start and run..... My english is not so good but I hope you understand what I mean.

I had the exact same problem with my SL65. My before stock dyno was 528 rwhp. On the same dyno after the coil packs it dynod just shy of 486. They could never fix it and I eventually sold the car.

JumpinJim you are scaring the hell out of me!

Thanks for the input Ekselent. I'll look into it. I'm going to smoke the turbo lines to see if there is any leak.

In the data logging I noticed I never got throttle position to read 100% even after pushing past that "click point" on the throttle. Is this common?

Over the holidays i'm going to take a look at the S/N of the two banks and see what that tells me. (thanks for that suggestion)

Sorry, just sharing my experience. Mine was an '06 as well. Maybe your techs will be better.

Not getting 100% is normal, highest I ever saw was 99% and would fluctuate some pre and post repairs. I used an autoenginuity data logger.

Hello.

Normaly if the engine is not get enough of fuel is misfiring ..... the engine is going to lean..... to much air vs fuel.

I was a little off in my numbers. Stock was 529.9 hp. Immediately after the repairs it was 442.6 hp. I took it back in and they did find a problem, they had apparently undone some of the ic lines and didn't bleed it. I took it back to the dyno and we went back and forth a few times and the best it did post repairs stock was 498.9.

I inquired with Kleemann and did a lot of data logging and dragstrip runs for them and ic was normal and we tried several flash files, but they best we could get it to was back to near stock values of 533.4 with their tune. They issued a refund and we flashed it back to stock and I sold it.

Dyno attached.

Update: second gear if full on the throttle is still a little weak until 5k rpm then 5-6k it appears to be pulling as it should and continues to pull normal in 3rd gear. It was doing this before then stopped.

Strange. I'm going to data log it again tomorrow.

2005 cl 65 amg Rentech upgrade and c43AMG with HPS stage1 supercharger
Power loss

Any news? I have the same problems with my 05 cl65 stage II Renntech. What I noticed is when I loos the power the full consumption increases by a big factor as well.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
