SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG – 800 Roadster Edition
Based on the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG, the name BRABUS 800 Roadster derived from its output, a lean and mean 800 horsepower. Instead of changing the entire powertrain, engineers simply added the BRABUS T65 RS tuning kit, which morphed the existing twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 engine into rumbling beast.
Already at a very respectable specification of 621 horsepower and 738 lb-feet of torque, the Mercedes AMG powertrain now churns out 800 horsepower with a shocking 1,047 lb-ft of torque, though they had to regulate it to 811 lb-ft so the transmission won’t blow out.
To achieve a 0 to 62 mph time of 3.7 seconds and a speed of 124 mph, BRABUS added carbon fiber bodywork for maximum performance efficiency. That includes the aforementioned carbon-fiber hood scoop, which cools the engine via four water-to-air intercoolers. The alterations then continue onto the vehicle’s interior where every inch received an re-upholstery, this time in BRABUS Mastik leather and Alcantara with precise grid-like stitching.
Hitting 124 mph takes just under 10 seconds, and the droptop will finally top out at an electronically limited – limited! – 217 mph.
