A BIG thanks to those who post here!

I just wanted to drop a big THANK YOU to everyone here that contirbutes day in and day out to help make ownership of my Benz one that is truly rewarding and with the least amount of pain as possbile!

I have leared a ton already and hope to continue to educate myself and help others as I learn. You know..pay it forwardand all.

I have accomplished many items over the past couple of months. Some with direct instruction from here..others from the confidence I learned working on those other parts I read about here! lol

Tonight I replaced the:

Replaced trunk struts ---maybe a 5 minute job total. Amazing how easy and how much of a difference it made!

Upgraded trunk flap hardware...20 minute job. Again, pretty easy and straight forward. I had an issue where the dirvers side flap would not open all the way when first activating the top. Really a pain when trying to use my smart top! lol

Anyways, thanks again to the many members prior to me that helped pave the way. You continue to save me time and moeny. I hope to return the favor to another in the near future!

I noticed that at times the trunk lid would not stay all the way open and that it would sag just a bit. Also it seemed unusually heavy when opening it. So after researching it here I discovered that the solution was to replace the trunk struts. I figuered that was the issue. But, the information on part numbers and "how to" was posted here. In the end, It was a $40 fix with MBZ parts I found on eBay. The dealer charges far more than that! Lol
