Wheels?

Hi Guys, any chance anyone knows if a stock Monoblock II from a W210 E55 set up:

18x8.0 et31 - Front
#65239

18x9.0 et35 - Rear
#65240

..would properly fit a SL55? .... I tried researching, and the smallest rim up front I read/saw was a 8.5" wide.... any chance these will fit, or will spacers for the front work? I love the look of my MII's...and would like to swap them onto my soon to be SL55. Thanks in advance

Hi, thanks for the reply. I'm unclear on how the tires would be too small, could you please elaborate?

For example, my current 18" monoblock set up has:

225/40's front, and 275/35 in the rear. If you mean regarding overall diameter, I don't believe that worries me too much. I'm primarily concerned about clearing the brake caliper as I saw the offset charts others have posted here, and I don't see a 8" wheel listed.

Thanks in advance.

sizes should be; 255/40 8.5 wheel, 285/35 9.5 wheel
or 19s different.
So it wouldnt be right.

Only MBs - the best or nothing
Well first of all, W210 E55 front tires are 245/40-18, not 225/40-18. And yes, 245/275 can be used on R230, just like they were used on R129.

More importantly, W210 OEM wheels will not fit R230 cars (or W211, W212, etc.) because they are drilled for 12mm bolts while R230s and all newer/larger use 14mm. The only way to make them fit is to drill wider holes so that 14mm bolts can go through. If you do that, you still most likely will need front spacers (5mm or more) to clear calipers and of course you'll need 14mm bolts that go through by 20mm on the inside instead of your current bolts.

Ah Ha! thanks! Actually my E55 fronts are the tire specs I listed, I'm pretty low, and that allows me not to rub. But the Bolt info you provided was just what I needed to hear to stop dreaming about mounting my MB2's on my new R230...
I'll try to use that workaround- or 2nd choice rim then... ..

So, Does that mean no good on my 2nd choice which were 19" monoblocks, staggered (8.5 & 9.5) with 46 offsets? I was going to use spacers.. but will I still have that Bolt size issue?

Or also for: R129 SL wheels are 18x8.5 and 18x10 et. 25 ?
** OK, answered my own Question: "SL (R129) uses 12mm bolts. The SL (R230) does use 14mm bolts about the SL Rims" --So I guess no R129 rims either... Argh..

Thanks in advance.

As specified above, those are from S-class. You can use them. You need 15mm front spacers - H&R part number 30556659 and 15mm rear spacers - H&R part number 3055665. Keep in mind that R230 SLs use different front and rear spacers par numbers as rears won't fit front. You will also need 15 mm longer bolts than what's on those S-class 19" monoblocks now. BTW, I love those wheels as well and well understand you want to keep them.

Cool Bro! Thank you for the insight, and especially the spacer distinction, much appreciated!... I'm still working on obtaining the 19"s' but, at least I won't feel remorseful about trading in my car w/ my E55 18" amg monoblocks in..as they wouldn't have worked w/o spacers & those adapter lugs...for my R230 anyway. I'd rather go the 19" S class monoblock way... ALTHOUGH I was trying to save a bit of weight and do the look in 18's... I guess I can't win em' all... I'll be sure to share a pic once the dust settles & I work all of this out.

PS: if anyone reading this has a lead on a fair priced set of 19" monoblocks please PM me.
