At the end of the line - Need Help
So I have been dealing with a leak in the trunk area of my 2007 SL55. The car has been back to Mercedes of Massapequa 7 time in the last 6 months. I bought the car in October and barely got to drive it. The previous owner must of kept it as a garage queen because the second it was in the rain it resulted in about a 30 oz of water in the trunk.
They have replaced every seal at least 4 times and sealed and resealed. Every time they say its fixed, it still leaks like they forgot something due to the amount of water. I am still amazed by the entire ordeal.
The complicated matter is I purchased the car from Mercedes of Bayside and brought it into Mercedes of Massapequa due to convenience and the fact that the first time I alerted Bayside of the issue they said, "I never heard of an SL leaking". That stopped me in my tracks right there. The first time I brought it in I had to pay since seals arent covered by CPO. I did however get bayside to pay half. I do have to say that Massapequa Mercedes has been doing everything possible to fix it but just cant seen to locate the issue. The one thing I noticed is the leak moved from around the drain pipe from the roof system to the way back of the roof.
I do want to keep the car if it can be fixed but I am at whits end at this point. I am working on filing for lemon law now and will contact bayside tomorrow.
Anyone have any ideas, recommendations or advice to lend????
