I have a feeling that when all is said and done, you could have just bought an '09. Aside from ruining the originality of your car and severely limiting your resale market if you go to sell it, the odds of recouping any of the money sunk into a major mod like this are slim to none. But I have to admire the effort!

Vtvette. I disagree, and agree at same time. It depends on the situation.
I have a 2006 SL65 w/ 70kmilesface/rear lifted to 2009-2011
A 2011 Sl65 are over 100k still. That's still alot of moolah.
Facelift/rearlift, lights, paint and labour was about 12k. Payoff is about 20k. So for current standard about 30k vs a 100k. if I pull up next to a 2011 SL65, my car looks better cause I have the vented hood, with upgraded BS exhaust tips with a straight pipe. Sounds and looks better. But that plan would not work on a sl500/550 2006 model.
Also, if I go BS, I would need an additional 15k in rims/wheels/work...and I would still be feeling pretty good cause now I am at 45-50k versus 150k Real BS.

Vtvette. My suggestions. Very simple. Do your own research on this thread and you will see.
Buy a pre-facelift model AMG version after all "needed" maintenance has been done it. Coils, mounts, ABC
Etc...low milage if you can.....est. 35-50k
Set aside budget for face/rear lift and labour/paint work, also lights/ballasts. Visit sarona.com. 10-12k for front/rear facelift. For Blackseries, more add extra 15k. More labour, more paint, more parts, rims/wheels. No SPACERS!!! Between 10-27k estimate
And that's it.
2011 SL65 look (100k)
Or a 2009 SL65 BS (150k)

My Headlights are working but the little lights don't work. I think the correct word for it in english is parking lights?
The wire for it have to be in one of the little holes in the new Housing. I have orderd some pins with the Partnumber below....but they are to big. I need some little Pins, does anybody know the part number for the little Pins wich will fit in the little holes oft the new housing?
This İs my conversion. Everything is original

Could someone possibly tell me what these 2 wires could possibly do, (red white and grey ) this comes straight out of the ballast, when my headlight is wired in even without this 2 little prong connector connected everything seems to work unless im missing something, there is also a 2 prong connector on the car side of things but even when connected i can see any difference thanks

Hi -sorry to bring back an old thread - I am doing this at present using the KabelDaviko harness. Everything is working except the large light. Can anyone help?
Do I need a 'ballast' to be fitted or do the lights come with one.
Also, where did you connect the two CAN cables? The KabelDaviko cable instruct to adapt the central gateway... but the lighting guy plugged them in the fusebox in the engine
Any help would be great *** the nights are drawing in!
Edit: should add:
Car SL350 MY05, right-hand drive
Lights are these ones: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/162258837298
Thanks,
Gareth

Question for SL65 Rockford or others in the Texas Area
What was the name of the shop that completed your conversion in Houston? Rather than find a shop that has no clue what they are doing I would rather use a shop that has already gone through the painful parts here so there are no issues.
thanks always

I called the current auto body business at that address in Sugarland and the current owner said that the business pictured is no longer there. He offered to help but is just another body shop owner.
it seems the knowledge is more plentiful now then back 5 years ago I maybe able to fit the body pieces and headlights with some research and then use a shop for minor adjustments and paint.
the headlight thread is also helpful.

Nice to see the progress sl65_rockford. Please keep us posted. I'm waiting for a Black Series replica kit to be delivered today or monday and I'm in the process of collecting the headlights and misc parts needed to start my conversion as well.
I've found this diagram on another thread, I believe that this the correct for the conversion:
