I don't know... it seems that the wet clutch of the SL63 is a difference maker over the torque converter in the SL65. As they mentioned in the SL65 article the 30-50mph and 50-70mph are clearly indications of the real world superiority of the SL63's transmission. For those looking for ultimate straighline performance in a Mercedes it is a virtual dead heat so you might as well save the $40-$50K and put it towards some performance upgrades (not that it really needs it )

Discovering that the 63 is slightly faster than the 65 between 0-60 made me feel the same feeling as when my dad told me Santa doesn"t exist.

Marcin ? Slap some GT35's on that biatch and make Santa real.

It isn't about 0-60mph times (which I find completely useless anyway).... check out how quick the SL63's wet clutch tranny downshifts in the 30-50 and 50-70mph times compared to the SL65. You could also change out the turbos on the SL63 so I fail to see your point.

Having actually had a 65 AMG I was always interested in seeing what the 7 speed transmission was capable of doing mated to the M275/279 V-12 biturbo. IMHO, it is kind of a let down and the SL63 seems to be a better performance set up.

Agree... IMO SL65 has no need for a launch control.

What are a few tenths 0-60 worth in real world driving???

I'm sure in the real world on the Autobahn, the 65 will be the quicker car.

And when I see the difference in the Interior, instruments, not to mention the smooth V12 and the low production numbers, in my opinion the new SL65 is well worth the extra charge to the SL63.
