SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: SL65 Whining Scratching Steering noise in right turns
Now the car makes a whining and scratching noise from the steering, but ONLY in RIGHT turns with a bigger steering angle and when the car is under "load" into the corner.
Any ideas? Pressure hose built in not correctly e.g. with tension?
Dealership says fluid level is o.k. and system bled correctly.
I hope it is not the Tandem Pump, but I think then the noise should be also there in left turns...
Any idea/help is appreciated. Thanks.
Alx, could you please explain a little bit more, what could make the noises in the steering rack in a turn to the right?
Do the mechanics have to look inside the cabin or from the engine side?
For me the noise is more coming from the inside of the cabin, but its difficult to say...
Does this have something to do with changing the high-pressure hose in the engine bay? This was a major job, they had to put many parts apart to get to this hose I think...
Again thank you very much!

Got my car back today. The noise is gone...
It was the high-pressure hose, which had not enough clearing to the engine, when the engine "moves" in right corners. They said maybe the new hose had a little bit different shape.
Problem solved at no additional costs, because it was a complaint of the first repair.
It is nice to hear the smooth V12 now with no additional noises!
