Help with 55AMG water coolant and Oil Dipstick
Hi
I stumbled across this website and first impressions are it seems like a great site to be part of.
I have a 2002 SL55 AMG and was hoping if anyone could help me with the following:
1) On the Engine I managed to locate the coolant level but unlike other cars on the side of the coolant drum there is no min/max indicator. How am I meant to know what is the correct level? On the collant temperature gauge on the dashboard, my temperature goes just above 80 degrees celcius, is this fine?
2) The oil dipstick level seems very different to most other cars and I am unsure if this is the correct dipstick. please have a look at the youtube video I have linked at view it at 3:23 as this is the same dipstick in my car. If this is the correct dipstick how do I measure the oil level?
Youtube link:
Thank you in advance. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

there is no dipstick in car. you could not run engine with it in. you can buy or make one. push in till it stops. measure oil height from end of dipstick. should be at 6.7" off bottom of pan.
water level not sure about. havn't looked.

If your coolant recovery tank is 1/2 to 2/3 full when cold- all is good. No precise level is required.
If tou want to be more accurate- Most tanks have an inner wall that should be covered with coolant when cold. You can see it if you peek inside when the cap is off.
