Slight vibration at slow speeds?
Test drove an '07 SL55 today that has only 21k miles on it and found that there was a slight vibration that seemed to be coming from the left rear wheel at slow speeds. Also had a slight shake at 60-63mph but I assume that this was a tire balance issue. I was under the impression that tire balance issues usually don't show up until 50mph + so what could the slower speed, 30ish mph, vibration be caused by? Car was absolutely perfect in every way other than this.

its got 21k. is this the origional tires? Are they visably worn?
A tire vibration, worn tires can bounce at 35 to 45 and 60 and any other speed depending on how they are worn.
I would tell the dealer you feel the vibration and are scared to buy the car. If he wants to sell it he has to put a new set of tires on it and prove it is fixed.

Tires are not going to make a whole lot of noise at low speed.
Mileage is not the concern here. It's a 6 year old car and rubber and mounts wear out. I'm guessing motor or transmission mounts.

Guess it could be trans or motor mounts after thinking back about how it felt. Was not like a normal tire issue would be. I will let the dealer know and have him check it out.
