Cup Holder

I am the proud owner of a recently purchased 2004 SL55 AMG ive noticed that only the passenger side cupholder pops out the drivers side appears to be stuck in. Is the car meant to have two or is one a blank. Thanks for your help.

I had the same problem with my '03. (Well, with my first '03.) Be persistent. I kept poking at it, pulling on it, and eventually (after a week or two of frustration) it popped out. Then I never had another problem with it.

It is not a blank. My '03 has always had 2.

on the 04's they have cup holders under the command unit, they are kinda hidden since they don't mark them. I remember when I had my 04 SL55 it took me 3 weeks after I bought the car to find the cup holders when I accidentally pushed the the cup holder out. They are under the command unit and look like 2 black bars about 1/2-2/3 of an inch thick. There is def. 2 it could be that it's just stuck which wouldn't surprise me.

Ok....may be different in certain markets....as here in RHD land (Oz) it is definitely a blank.....also i know of a few in the UK which are the same.......assume due to position of indicator stalk etc......

Never considered that, but I can see where a drivers side cup holder might interfere in an RHD car.

yep getting a cup of coffee to the lap as you hit the indicator is not my idea of fun.....


not allowed in my car anyway
