ABC suspension costly to maintain.....i.e.....like all 230's struts are a grand to repair when they leak......ABC hydralic lines are costly to repair.....i.e. 3k if the master one goes that runs to every wheel.........everything else usually takes a grand to repair.......expensive to maintain cars.......

take it to a mercedes dealer and have a cpo inspection. then youll know how it stands , also have them get the master sheet and it will show the previous warrantee work and service

My experience with an 03 sl 500 and an 03 sl 55. Motor mounts,cd changer,shifter pawl,throttle switch,abc blocks,abc hose,alternator,throttle switch, this is over 6 years between the 2 cars some was warranties the other stuff I did myself

The ABC system is prob. gonna be the the biggest one. If you can get a full bumper to bumper warranty then go get it, It will pay for itself. I had an ABC issue that costed 3k just for struts, but warranty took care of it. I heard when the pulley goes bad in the 55's it can be somewhat of a pain.
Other then that I can really tell you much since my old 04 SL55 was totaled 6 months after I bought it, so I just upgraded to 06 SL65. One thing I missed in my old 04 was an AUX port, which the 06's don't have since they use MP3 CDs so you will prob want to buy an aftermarket port that lets you use Bluetooth, AUX, and USB
