Cl65 numbers

Joe,

Can you let me know how you did this work?

I'd like to replicate it for the cl65s.

Thanks.

I'd pm you, but I'm a new member.

The MB archive is a good place to start. For some reason they don't provide all production counts, but it will give you a rough idea. The CL65 production appears to be fewer than 3000. They show 777 units for 2004-2005, no data for 2007-2010, and 1132 units for 2010-2013. The production number is under "General Data" tab. They'll have a number or show "not separately documented".

MB Archive - CL65 data

Getting ALL the data involves scraping it from the VIN decoder sites, which is fairly painful. My approach requires some knowledge of web scripts and SQL databases. I used a CAPTCHA solving service in my script to get to the build data.

Joe.

Thanks for the reply.

I was hoping you might have the code in a GIT repo or something and I could use your code to get started.

Would you mind sending me a pm?

Thanks.

The code connects to my own online SQL database so it would have to be scrubbed. Not sure when I might do something like that. If I do, I'll put it on Github. As is, it requires an online SQL database and an account with anticaptcha.com.

I forgot that I also pulled data from the Mercedes EPC (MB parts catalog). If you have a local installation of EPC then the database used by the datacard feature is installed. In theory, it contains all models of MB vehicles. You would expect it to be the final authority on all MB vehicles, but it was missing quite a few of the SL65s, so it's not perfect.

It's been a while since I messed with the EPC database. I'll see what I can find there for 215379 and 216379.

@nuge , @Gbc I've decided to start scanning for CL65s. Will let you know when I have data (could be several weeks).
