Help Please - Fuel Pump Issue??
Hi all,
Ok so i have a 2003 SL55 done 45,000 miles.
It has an issue, not really sure how to explain.
It all began about 4wks ago, I was driving from place to place and the car was fine. After stopping for a while (turning the car off and getting out etc), I go back in to start the car. Car starts fine but after a minute or two, I hear a humming noise coming from the boot area. The noise starts off quite but then gets louder, the car then starts shaking and after a few more seconds, the car just stalls and stops. It sounds like the car is chocking.
I left the car over night and came back the next day and the car started fine again, then i drove it home. I thought it might have been a one off thing.
But same thing happened again last week, i drove the car to work, drove it to a few places then back to work. When i was about to leave the office, same thing happened again, car starts fine but after a minute, I hear a humming noise coming from the boot area. The noise gets louder, the car then starts shaking and after a few more seconds, the car just stalls and stops.
I left the car at work overnight, then the next day i drove it home normally.
Has anyone experienced this before or heard of it? Could it be the fuel pump? I understand that

I just replaced mine,loud humming from back of car,and fuel pressure issues

First it didn't work at all one day but I had disconnected the battery for some work I was doing ,just a coincidence ,then it got noisy,then it didn't work again at all,I turned it on with my computer put it on my lift and tapped it with a screwdriver and it stated working with a loud groaning ,I would replace it with filter it's 10 yrs old
