WTB Carbon Fiber Hood!!!
As the thread title says I am looking to buy a Carbon Fiber hood for my 2003 SL55. I am having a CF trunk spoiler and front lip installed tomorrow and think a CF hood would look awesome against the sliver paint.

trunk spoiler and lip is more than enough
maybe the mirror?
i think carbon fiber hood will look really ugly on your car.

Yeah, I also think the CF hood is a bit much. I have had them on other cars, and usually the quality and fit is a compromise. I am all for CF accents though and am personally looking for the side and and hood vents for my SL65. Mirrors would be cool too...

Get it wrapped first. A lot cheaper, will fit better and you can end up spending the fortune for a real one if you end up liking it.

Does anyone know of a company that makes them? I'd love to get one and have it painted to match the car just to cut weight.

I forget if it was Misha or Prior design that have a carbon fiber hood but its for the 2009+ vented hood. As for other stuff I'd ask RAW AMG he has carbon fiber mirrors, front lip, grill, spolier, side skirts, grill accents, diffuser, etc on his SL55.

I'd do the hood too just to paint and reduce the weight too, but I figure our cars aren't as popular as the C/E AMGs cause those guys can get carbon fiber np

Whats even worse other r230 can get a carbon fiber front lip np but its hard as hell to find one for an SL65 AMG front bumper cause the shape is different and it pisses me off sometimes lol.

Talk to John at MAcarbon, about $2300 for side and hood vents in carbon fiber.

Thanks. Are they 100% CF or are they stock parts coated in CF? Seems a little steep for 4 small pieces.

So apparently there was a company that made CF hoods and trunk lids for the R230 2003-2008. but I don't know if they still exist,
