ABC problems - Replacing high pressure hoses
Took my '03 SL55 in to get serviced... got the car back and drove like new. However, after a few days, i went over a dip in the road and as suspension compressed, the ABC warning "drive carefully" came on.
2nd hose to fail in my car in the last few months.
Is this a regular thing? Heard there are quite a lot of hoses that could fail??
Any reason for the hoses to break or is it just down to wear and tear??

Just had my ABC lines changed both sides, the leak also buggered my
engine mounting, and they found a rotten ball joint. 3 grand, but it drives
like new even the pot holes are dealt with.

Great question which then leads me to ask has anyone made SS hardlines for the ABC system? If high pressure hoses are a failure point and the system isn't a mad spider's web of hydraulic hoses then SS hard lines might be a way to go. Just a thought.

Here is an extensive thread on ABC - start at post 162
Although this is an S600 it is very similar for all ABC models. I thought in my first read there was a reference to using SS lines as an alternative to the existing lines, but couldn't find it again as I was reviewing it. It does describe ways of optimizing the system as part of replacing hoses though, which you may find helpful.
