Do you guys know what are the top quarter mile times for the V12 TT 600 and the 65. I believe there was a S600 on spray that holds the record for the 600 going 10.5xx in the 1/4. Not sure what the record was for the 65 other than that Renntech CL65 that went 10.2

It would be good to know what a stock turbo real record is, I want to see how close I can get to that record and after the turbos in June see what else I can do as far as records go.

The big body S600 that went 10.50's was Stephen Selden, still here as a member, drives a different car now.

It sure is a tall list.

 

Yeah, I wish people were more forthcoming about ALL of there mods when they post there. Tough to compare sometimes...Set false expectations...
Funny how the quickest SL65 is 10.70's and the quickest CL65 is 10.20's...

The 10.2 CL65 is def far from bolt ons

 

Still can't believe my paltry 11.02 is still the top ET for the SL600. Sean should take that down when he finally gets to a track. No reason that shouldn't be a 10 second pass. Plus soulsearcher's car is a big turbo car, with a big MPH. He just couldn't hook up...

I've got the top 4 and 6 out of the top 10 ETs. Shows you how many people are NOT dragging this platform... LOL


With my new Eurocharged tune, I'd think in the right air, this car has a 10.9x in her...

 

I agree...I can't believe I am 6th on a list of 30 SL's...and I've only owned my car for about 8 months and I've only got a ECU/TCU...I hope to move up a spot or two with intake and better driving...

 

I used to think that too, but... Now I'm thinking just maybe.. Maybe... Mind you, that record was really legit, & all listed mods are what it had done to it, those mods in theory should help these heavy sleds really UNLEASH the v12tt furry...

Also CAI on that rig was very advanced too true ram air, they gave little snap shots of their Carbon Fiber CAI but never revealed the proverbial wizard behind the curtain on that mod damnit!!

That 10.2 was def ran on nitrous or more than just tune and bolt ons no matter what ppl say we all know no CL that speds even 10k miles on the dyno will run 10.2 with intakes and a tune.

Im not taking that record into consideration wen I run but with new turbos I will be going after it as well.

Looks like we think a like. Im not gonna talk bs about someone elses car but the mods are not listed correctly. Eitherway nitrous dif turbos or whatever the case 10.2 is a solid time for a CL65.

I really want to see you, someone w/your families history in the sport get a BIT lower than that.. And would like to prove my OEM Hannibal'd airboxes do indeed increase hp/tq.. Paypal JUSTshipping fees say $30 odd bux & I'll donate mine to your cause.. Though you need to run filterless for at least 10 miles for ecu adaptation inmop.

To keep safe use 50-100 micron SS mesh screen double wrapped, secured w/worm gear clamps (pull air intake tubes off exposing OEM air inlets mounted on radiator shroud, clamp said SS mesh there, then simply reinstall everything, or if fine w/oem little metal intake screens ONLY? Just rock that (inmop unless your driving thru a construction site or near the beach you've got nada to worry about, those OEM screens are ample protection for short distances)

If you run in similar air/DA & get similar 60' I bet 10.8x @ 128+ is easily in range

Mine is: SL65, 10.99, 127.64, 1.68 60ft.

 

Every unsprung weight advantage mod available to them ie carbon fiber drivshafts, carbon ceramic rotors etc indeed work. Take the Bagatti Veyrone for example IF huge hp/tq were ALL it took to create Super Cars that heavy beast would'nt even need those unsprung advantages whatsoever, but they have ALL of them..

(unless you just wanna break a record for cl600? run nitrous as Stephen did, though inmop cheating as any car/platform can just add 150-200 rwp in a snap! STILL very impressive seeing otherwise stk piglet run 10.5x)

When I added Benzworks lightweight 2 piece rotors @ all 4 corners the unsprung weight savings is worth much much more than the actual weight saved, it multiples the savings many times, I didn't even have to dyno it to know acceleration from DEAD stop & handling/braking improved quite noticably.. If you don't add ANY of these mods to your build you will be hard pressed to get anywhere near SGC's record or sub 11's in heavy cl600 trust me Im friends w/all track stars here, Jasons cl600 had weight savings mods etc inc 1 helluva a driver & barely squeezed out that 10.9x

These heavy pigs of ours need every unsprung weight advantage available to MORE importantly get the power down & light on its feet so to speak.. Inc super lightweight track wheels, unless you add all these to your mix the Billet turbs you're planning wont be nearly enough ie 50-65 rwhp tops is gained from Billet whl upgrades..

PS on SGC's cl65 record I thought he listed ALL the actual boltons used to quite possibly have made that record legit. He listed them here on MBW many times, including the unsprung mods I listed above he had Black Series turbo's, the Carbon Ceramic brake setup was off an Ferrari F430.. All these mods inmop = a ton of perf vs all OEM bits etc etc..

 

The CL65 that ran the 10.2 had black series turbos? well right there is a huge upgrade. I will not be running nitrous and a diet for the car including light weight rotors along with other weight reduction is in the plans. Weight is key to go fast especially in a heavy car like the 600. I agree with you Sean and that is why I will have to push it a bit further than everyone else if I want to go fast. I got about 2 months of track time before te billets go on. I want to see how fast I van take the CL without using nitrous and having Speedriven help me do this with their parts and tuning. Hopefully I can see at least the 600 record in the future, I will focus on the 65 record when I get the 600 one down. They say you gotta aim your goals high what will happen in reality only the time slips will show

 

Not at all I want to see all 10sec cars on that list. Can you copy paste the list and add your car in the 1/4 mile order and if you can list your mods plz

10.576 - 136,17 MPH. The owner of the car confirmed me a new run of 10.698 - 137,88 MPH 2 weeks ago. On Pump Gas!

O.k. the Brabus Bullit C-Class with 1820 KG/ 4012LBS is a little bit lighter than the SL/CL.

But the MPH shows some serious power and that the GAD-Upgrade works REALLY well on the car.

I know the owner, Mo, Been knowing him since way back when he had the E55 and CL65 by Brabus. I saw the video of the Bullit Vs. his C63 BS V8TT and it wasn't even close. The Bullit is definitely a very fast V12.

 

I have been talking to SGC lately, and a lot of thought went into setting that record time. A lot of people in those days assumed it must have been NOS since the times were so drastically improved and that MPH was astonishing, but it was all weight reduction in the right places, unsprung weight. Honestly I had speculation myself at one point of the usage of NOS but after making more research and finally speaking to him we can put those assumptions to rest. Everything the car had was mentioned in a thread somewhere here on MBworld when he ran the 10.2.

This racing season will definitely be interesting and I am sure someone will improve on that 10.2 . The beauty would be to see a 4000+ lb whale hit 9's.

 

I understand and from what Sean said the car had Black Series Turbos which are a great upgrade from the 65 AMG turbos. I don't think anyone can compete unless they have a different turbo build, I guess even on billets you can go pretty fast and its all about how much weight can be saved. This summer will be very interesting, you got your 65 I got my car being worked on and I'm thinking records are going to be broken.
