I have an 03 SL55 and the one thing about this car that I don't like is the paddle shifters. They are not really user friendly and I'd like to change them. I found these on ebay and I'm wondering if anyone has changed theirs? Is there anything I need to look out for?

Says not compatible with SL55. Would like to do similar with my 2005 model SL55 but with smaller paddles. Have seen a post were someone fitted similar paddles but had to do some modification of the connectors. Also considering retro-fitting a later steering wheel with paddles already fitted.

An electronic solution for converting the older pre-2007 AMG (analog) shift button equipped cars to be plug compatible with the newer AMG aluminum shift (digital) shift paddles is available and DOES NOT require cutting up the new paddles to accept the switches from the old shift buttons. It is an electronic module that makes the new paddles plug and play. On your side of the planet, it is available from http://www.commandonline.co.uk/ here is a direct link http://www.commandonline.co.uk/paddl...er-module.html
Here in the states, the Paddle Converter Module is available from various retailers including (forum sponsor) DCT Motorsports ... or from me. I can also provide you with more info on physically converting your wheel for paddles. Don't hesitate to send me a PM if you have any questions.
Cheers,
Chris
