Simple ipod or aux port connection for 08 SL?
I have an 08 with CDC and MB bluetooth (which I don't use either of the two). Are there any cheap/simple solutions to add a 3.5 aux port or usb port/ipod port so I can use my ipod? The 05 C-class had an aux port imbedded in the kickpanel that allowed you to use a cheap $40 cable from MB. Not really looking to spend $600 on a Dension gateway.
Thanks

I'd look for a used unit on the classifieds, I bought my Mobridge for 400 used which was 800-900 new, and there was someone a few months ago that was selling a dension unit for 250 but my friend snagged that up the moment it was posted. I know he didn't install it yet so I could ask if he wants to sell it or not

I assume that over the years with all the SL's sold, that everyone has checked their kickpanels for the aux connector (same way the C-class was done) right? I just can't believe they didn't come with a simple solution of how to hookup a small media player!

Has anyone used the Grom audio Most units? They're currently on sale for $299 on their website, which is cheaper than the Mobridge units at $459

Im curious how the Bluetooth for the phone works, I was curiously about this a long time about before I bought my MoBridge Unit, Only reason I got the mobridge is I saw videos of how the bluetooth works with the phone and it enabled all the functions on the car again such as the pick up/hang up on the command and steering wheel, the telephone buttons on the command unit, and all the other things associated with the phone functions such as dialed/missed/received calls and phone book.
I didn't see how the Grom unit function otherwise I'd would have picked it over MoBridge since it had android compatibility but I just use my old Ipod touch for music and save battery on my phone.

Not sure, I'm not planning on using the bluetooth function since I have the factory bluetooth puck already in the car (and have yet to use it...). I'm looking mainly for the USB drive function and 3.5mm jack.

Then you should be fine, I've see the videos on youtube for Grom and it seems legit. It even has android integration if you download the app Grom recommends
