Oil catch can installation pics...
I installed my oil catch can today, pretty simple to do. I was getting a lot of oil in my intake surge tanks, so hopefully this will fix that issue...

Yeah, I would be too. My thinking is that if MB didn't put one in, there is not supposed to be one, thus no oil.
If you have oil in your intake, there must be a problem.

read up on this guys, this is a common issue in the 55k motors. there are lots of post in the W211 section regarding PCV blow by.
its not a ton of oil, but the crankcase creates pressure, thus pushing oil blow by back into the intake side of the engine. which in turn can lower octane, etc.
the catch can eliminates the oil from entering the intake system.

it is a 55k rebuild write up from several years ago. the first 2 pages has some info on installing a catch can, and its benefits. thought this would be a good read for you, since your pretty much doing the same thing.
