7sp Speedshift tranny into 230 ?

I love the looks and overall performance of my 05 SL65...with the exception of the transmission. I've thought about migrating to a newer SL65 but just don't like the styling changes.

Sure anything can be done if you have the $$. Seems like a lunatic question but, what's your back of the napkin estimate on what it would take to convert an SL65 (230) with 5sp tranny to the 7sp tranny offered in the newer SL65's ?

Components? ROM cost?

The 5 speed 722.6 trans is bomb proof. It's time tested, and reliable. The 7G tronic's have had huge issues, that's why the 07 ML63's and others are dirt cheap. Trust me be happy with the 5 speed. The newer ones are not built as well. Ask any AMG tech and they will tell you the same. I have had 5 cars with the 722.6 trans and would never trade them out. E55, SL55, SL65, and 2 ML55's with 170k mileage and going strong.
