Wide Body Picture

This is the wide body car I am looking at.
It looks fine to me, any body know what kit it might be.

It looks terrific in the pictures, and the wheels are perfect in my opinion. I would supercharge it so that the performance would match its looks. Otherwise it's a bit of a sham.

Yes it does look good. Do you know who makes headers that I am sure I read give another 30 bhp, with an ecu tweek you might get 50+ total.
That's 575 bhp...

Thanks for posting the photos sound 8. Fit and finish looks good from the pics. I gotta admit, I am more of an R230 purist and am generally not a big fan of wide bodies. That one looks nice and the best one I have ever seen is thericker's.

Thanks my friend.. But I think the SPDV6 kits are the best, when going for a full OEM stock blk series look.. IE note the narrow front fenders on these Prior kits (Sound 8 that's indeed a Prior kit on Natty 63) But really look @ the front fenders, they're 2"-3" less in width per side vs My kit, & SPV6 & 1-2 other makes.

Prior for some odd reason made them super skinny? It may not bother you now, or at all in pix but in person you will see & realize how it destroys ALL the symmetry & Coke Bottle sexy curves seen on OEM SL65 Blk series & a few of the aftermarket kits like Misha etc.. I'll post a few comparo's for you, but trust me in person it looks very off & anemic as the harmony of wide rear flairs needs to follow thru & match its width in both the rear & front.
Real AMG Black Series

vs Misha Designs..

vs Prior below.. OK here's how you can see the diff the best, notice the Prior front fender flair, it trails to basically nothing way before it even transitions & meets the front bumper IE the line separating the (2) body parts, on Priors the fender flair is basically over before it meets the bumper,, on Misha & OEM real blk series the fender flair carries well over into the front bumper as it transitions between fender to front bumper, the actual flair is still 2"-3" in width, vs Priors the fender flair is 1-2" even at it's largest points, then as it reaches the front bumper transition it's totally gone IE there's zero fender flair carried over into the front bumper.. Hope this long explanation makes sense lol.. Sorry easier to just see it for me, I studied all the most minute differences in these kits to death, then when my dealer had areal blk I went down & took pix & studied it in person for a good hour plus while I waited for an oil change.. So I can point out even more differences in bodywork that is noteworthy but this would bore you to death & turn into a Novella

Notice when viewed from the side etc it's very hard to see that the fenders on Priors kits are neutered to the max, but they are.. Edit: IDK my last pic is upside dwn but you can still see how wide it is in the front..

And a few of my widebody note the close up view w/my hood open, similar to Priors View from top looking down

Yes, SPDV6 kits do look the most like a factory SL65 Black but I will have to agree that Sean's car looks pretty damn nice.

Hi guys, I have seen the car and spoken to the people. This is not a kit from
any body, they make it themselves. there moulds were taken from Black
series so it is pretty identical. I like all wide bodies, some more than others.
This car looked stunning and had 21 inch rears After a drive I had to
have it, so it is back to a 63, however with the wide body fitted, with extra
track the steering and grip was amazing, excellent on British roads, the only
thing is insurance, what do you tell them and what happens if you have an
accident and the parts are no longer available, Seeing Therickers car spurned
me on to get one, it does need a Renntech lowering module.

I have spent the last half hour looking at 65 black ed and all I can say is
it is identical to the car I have bought. I find it difficult to see much difference between the wide bodies, Thericker's front looks slightly more
agressive, but I do not know how much he has changed or added to his kit.
To be able to get the car of my dreams ( looking that is ) I am grateful. It has
saved me trying to get a kit fitted to mine, and mine is 11 years old. Thanks
for every body and there help. Will post some more pics when I have it.

The only thing different from Priors is they integrated the old oval tips into diffuser ect, trust me the front 1/4 flairs are much more narrow than the stock black series or my Misha. I can't blow up & copy that front 3/4 shot you posted of this widebody, but please trust me & look closely you can see the front fenders totally match Priors..

Look @ what I pointed out about how the front fender flairs don't carry the flair over into the front bumper, they stop the flair abruptly before the front bumper etc.. Still a beautiful rig congratz! So you own both now? Or?

Ahh got it, you sold the 65.. Argh wish you could have just gotten a kit put on ur 65 but you def saved yourself a huge headache in all that's involved in such a build.. Forget the extra width infront fenders, you picked up a gorgeous auto enjoy in good health sir Concerning replacement parts? no prob, I've studied these kits & oem stock widebody's for 7 years now lol.. That is a Prior Design kit & parts will be readily available, according to Misha the SL widebody is his most popular kit & sells them frequently, I'm certain Priors just as popular as I've seen equal amounts of both kits running ALL over the Los Angeles/CA area...

could also be an fx designs kit. Ive talked to a couple people including prior and all these "prior" looking kits look identical. One of the vendors told me they all get the same kit from the same place. Just everyone markets them differently and has different markups based on their "brand" recognition.

To the rickers point though i do indeed see the difference in the front fender flare he is talking about. I am actually glad he pointed that out as i have never seen one of these kits in person and would not have noticed that difference had he not pointed it out.

Does anyone have first hand experience regarding the quality and fit of the spdv6 kit?

A real thanks, you don't realise how much sway you have when someone
is trying to make a decision, in everyone hated it I would probably not buy
it, so thanks for the comments
As regard to insuring them, what do you call it ? and is there any chance
you can mix and match body parts. I must admit it took my breath away
when I first saw it. I was looking at RennTech long headers, $8100
that's why you need turbo's, guess I will have to put great lookin...
S8..

If you want to get the body parts covered on your policy, it's easy just show them the auto has an aftermarket widebody kit, get a replacement quote w/break down on each body part from where you bought it (as they want to put their own twist on where the parts came from, Prior etc etc doesn't matter they're aftermarket parts they installed get a quote, then give that to your Ins Co, they will factor it into your bluebook value etc & you will pay CONSIDERABLY more per month to fully cover the car but it should give you the peace of mind you seek)

Edit: But you really don't need to spend all that extra $$$ I've had my kit for going on 4 yrs now & if fitted properly they hold up just like OEM Stock parts over time, & your concern of possible accidents is valid though adding it to your policy isn't really needed, the place you bought it from is fibbing on making it themselves to add value to the sale, it is a direct match to Prior & FX Designs etc as Coldhammer & I have pointed out.. IE the replacement body parts are easy to source don't worry about it.. Just go drive it & enjoy the new rig!

Thanks Thericker and all you guys.. the body kit probably is Prior but that's
good, because if I prang it, I know where to get the parts. I am getting
quite excited, planning where to go, it will be park, get out and look every
10 minutes.. Also although it looks beautiful a full valet, especially
the exhaust trims where most dealers forget.
Looking at this another way, how much will I pay for my next 65

It is a 2010 car, it has a carbon pack but the back has been changed.
It feels like it's on rails..
