Anyone Run a 305 30 20 on an SL?

Since it has been stupid hard to find tires for my car and I want something sticky to try for the summer. I have the lomo lowering module to adjust the car up a hair if need be, but I wasn't sure if anyone had any experience with these not fitting. I am looking into the nitto NT-05R

think you might have an issue with a 305/30 fitting, but i do know a 305/25 will fit as long as the offset on the rim is right.

I run a 305/25/20 and hate it. I will be jumping to a 30 on this next set. As for fitment, I'm lowered and can tell I have enough clearance to run them with very minimal rubbing, when hitting bumps, if any.

Another way of increasing the ride quality is to fit wider tyres.
I have just put 325 25 20 on, much better and they look

Sound 8, do you also raise the suspension (one light), as well?

I always ride with it, if not it is an uncomfortable ride.

Hi Rune, I had 305 25 21 on and it was bone shaking, so I put 20 inch on
but with bigger tyres, and it is better and better geared. I am having a
RennTech lowering module fitted tomorrow which will be much better than
the lowering links it has at present. Also at the same time they are going
to upgrade the ECU . So can't wait to drive it, let's hope we have a nice
weekend, I am soooo excited ..

Yeah, I would imagine a 30" wheel rides pretty bad. Never seen any of those on a Benz. Post a pick of that Donk!

Here's a picture of some 30's on a Camaro.

It's not a case of which tyre you prefer, you have to have the right size
for the rim, as well as loading and speed rating,no good plucking figures
out of the air.

Does everyone else here, who has lowered their cars, raise the suspension when you're driving?

Of course , the car has 3 heights. Lowest/no lights, middle/one light, hi/two lights.
I use lowering links
Low is pretty low, I can drive like that but chance for scraping. Low is for parking and showing.
Middle can go either way, I drive with it on good roads and performance driving.
Hi is for everywhere else I go. Reason is, the car is aligned at High position so camber is straightest best tire wear, straight handling , is I drive in lo the tires would wear rapidly.

305/30-20 will easily fit with a 10.5" wheel being the optimal width. What's of the most importance is wheel offset.

I want to run 325/30r20 rear and 305/30r20 up front on my wide body. I am still waiting for my new wheels so I am not sure if they will fit yet.

The main reason being this is the best sizes I could find in the pilot sport cup2 tires I want to run.

Hey sound8, how about 315/25/20? I read your response about putting on a wider tire, and it did make sense..the wider tire will beef up the over all tire it self.

315/25r20 should be no problem but you would probably want an 11" wheel minimum.

I had 295/30/19" on the standard 9,5" Rims which was not good, tyre to wide for the rim. Now I have 305/25/20" on 11x20" Rims. Ride and handling on the car has increased 2 or 3 fold. Car is lowered with Renntech V2 module and no problem.

Im planning on running 20x9 up front 255/30 and 20x11.5 rears and fit 315/25 rather than 305/25, what do you think?

The recommended size is 305/25/20, but I've seen them on other R230s and the 25 series are too thin imo...i figured if i go a bit wider tire, it'll make the 25series a bit taller/beefier compared to 305s..
