I was reading the latest R&D magazine at Safeway yesterday, and it had a two page write-up on the SL 55. At the end of the article, it states that the car will cost $96,000. This sounds too good to be true. What do you guys think? Was it a mistake? My salesman is still not giving me the exact price, but said that I would be surprised with the SL 55's MSRP.

Afterall, a CL55 is $104K, compared to the CL500 base price of $91K...maybe the same ratios will apply to the SL55/SL500

That was actually Automobile Mag you read the $96,000 price tag in.
Sorry guys, just a little wishful thinking. the Base price of the SL 55 will be almost $116k plus tax.
If you were to price a regular Sl 500 out with a sport package and all the options on mbusa, it would exceed $100,000.

Can't be correct.
Not even close.
The AMG differential over base SL500 will exceed that of CL's and S's.
Based on actual prices paid in Europe thus far for SL55's, price in USD should be $116-118K.

the cl55 has 360hp but the new sl has 470. Thats why the difference in cost from the 500 to amg 55 is so different.
