SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: Brilliant Silver being phased out?

Brilliant Silver being phased out?
Interestingly brilliant silver is being replaced by iridium silver (German name) with a completely new paint code on the new 2005 SLK. Perhaps this is a change across all product lines?

2005 SLK350
they can't just get rid of a classy color like bril silver, and if they did, it would be pretty darn close to bril silver
but then what do i know, i thought mb would keep the nose out of SL's and SLK's (altho the new SLK nose is kinda growing on me)

I can't belive that Merc would get rid of Brilliant Silver. That would be like Ferrari deleting Rosso Corsa!

Latest info
Just confirmed that the new silver will be available on the M Class for 2005 so we should be seeing it here in the US as soon as the 2005 M Class models are out in a few months. Apparently Mercedes has not announced its official name in the US but it is known as Iridium Silber in Germany. Since Iridium looks a lot like platinum my guess is it could be named Platinum Silver here. It sounds like it is so close to Brilliant Silver that it would be duplicative for Mercedes to retain Brilliant Silver. Felix in Germany has seen it on their new 2005 SLK's and says it looks a lot like the old brilliant silver with perhaps more blue in it.

Mercedesfan you're right. The ML will have the Irridiumsilver with the producion of june 2005. Mercedes will change the color across all product lines. I saw the new SLK with the Irridiumsilver too and it realy looks like brilliant silver, there's not a big difference.
