SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: 2007 SL55 Baseline Dyno
My plan is to do a few mods with following parts purchased already:
Weistec Heat Exchanger
Johnson 30 IC pump
Weistec Plugs
Weistec Air filters
77mm clutched supercharger pulley
Scatter shield from latemodel 21
Belt wrap kit and pulleys from Shardul
Eurocharged TCU and ECU
I'm not new to hopping up cars, but I am new to Mercedes cars.
After the baseline, I started tearing apart my car to start the install. I do have a few questions for anyone that can answer (sorry, but there is much for me to learn about the AMG55.
Does blocking the oil cooler with the Heat exchanger have much affect on the oil cooler function?
I hear that the old Bosch IC pumps were not very good. Does this include my stock 2007 IC pump or is my original an ungraded pump by this time?
I didn't get any instructions from Weistec on the HE install and can't seem to find any instructions on their site. Do I need to remove the original HE unit? Any guidance here would be helpful.
I hear that the factory MB plugs are indexed. Is this true with the Weistec plugs?

Weistec is where I started because of their MB presence and stature.
I'm learning more everyday.
The car should be pretty solid by the time it goes to the dyno next time.

I'm not going too crazy with this car - once gone too far, there's no turning back - been there, done that. It's been a great car, just trying to tweek a little more out of it.

if I told you that 462 was in 5th gear (.83)!Funny - It bounced off the speed limiter approaching the upper end of the RPM's in 4th gear. Had me wondering for a minute why it wouldn't go further.




180 mm crank pulley Weistec, 2 intercoolers hooked up in serie, ,split cooling from engine radiator. and still all this after this , its just 523 hp . but the trottle response and it felt like it was 70 more before ECU tuning . so what y guys think about this

i also have changed the compressor ,to brand new one from Germany before dyno testing , probaly taken off a brand new factory engine.
so even if not add more fuel, is strange that numbers are so low as from 517 hp to 523 with all this changes.
