New floor mats arrived today !

I was pleased to recieve these new mats which were made to my requirements by AMG.

As you can see the mats are the same colour as the carpet and trimmed with matching leather. The footpad is also leather.

The AMG logo is embroidered, not printed.

The price was 287 euros, which includes post packing and tax. The Germans are a trusting lot, as they have sent an invoice, which I will pay later today.

They really do! Is that a ash interior? It looks amazing! I'll have to try scraping up money from a summer job for some mats for my dad if they look this good!

The interior colour is Alpacca grey.(Exterior obidian black )

Went out for a drive, and I am sure the acceration has improved since fitting these 'lighter' grey mats

tony,

do they fit the studs on the floor properly. my current amg mats keep popping out and hence end up moving all over the place.

Hi DB1,

There are two types of fixings for the mats , dependent on the type of fixing there is on the floor.

I have the 'Press stud' type, and AMG have supplied the correct mats which make a positive click when then 'popper ' is pushed onto the floor stud .

The other type is a 'Looped Hole' in the mat which does not engage if you have the former fixing.

I actually ordered the mats when I collected my car from Germany, as we made an 'inpromtu' visit to the AMG factory at Affalterbach. The guy who took the order actually came out to the car to check on the fixings to make sure I got the right mats for the fixing ( Typical German efficiency )

If your mats don't engage with a positive click, then I would guess that your mats are incompatible with the studs in your car.

Tony,

What is the part number for the mats? I'm going to try to order them. In the AMG catalog posted earlier on this board there is a mat listed under the following code for the SL55

HWA 230 680 00 48

Is this the part number that you ordered? Thanks.

Hi AMG 493,

The part number is correct, but you will need to specify the carpet colour, the edge trim colour, and the embroidery color.

Mats look nice. Question though, why the black steering wheel?

The reason quite simply was that I didn't have a 'Manufaktur' brochure at the time of ordering the car.

Mercedes Benz UK keep the options a secret from their customers, as it makes life too complicated. Mercedes Benz UK would rather sell a standard car with a few standard options, and go home early and watch the TV

In England, if you want something a bit personalised, you have an uphill struggle on your hands.Having said that, I did manage to eventually get a factory fitted performance pack after telling the dealer where to find the information to order one.

I have also ordered illuminated sills from my Dealer. At first the parts department said they could not take the order as the part number did not appear on their computer. I told them to place a manual order, and 'Bingo' the sills are due within the next week or so.
