2009 SL63 AMG

Weird symbol in dash - SL63 AMG

Hello, just recently a symbol popped up in the tachometer side of the dash. Can anyonr make sense of what this symbol is?

Right of the ODO.

Looks like you have a LCD screen on the first stages of dying. I remember seeing a similar thread not too long ago. On that thread the area that was failing kept growing.

Search for 'pink shrimp' and the DIY for the LCD replacement I wrote up. If you get the whole instrument cluster, it must be mated to the car. Just the LCD does not require mating.

Same thing happened on my 2007 SL55.

While I haven't fixed mine (mine looks like Nurburging race track) there a guy in Los Angeles, Ca. that fixes this. PM me if you want this person's info.

2017 S550 cabriolet 2007 SL550 , 2012 C300

Mine did the same thing (2007sl550) took it to the dealer they ordered the new LCD gauges and replaced both of them because they said the brightness wouldn't match. Cost $2789.00 under extended warranty ( thank god for warranties)
