MY 2006 SL55 amg radio resets every time I restart my car! Resets as in radio stations and all! Please help!!! why does it do this???

Internal failure in the Comand unit. The same thing happened to my 2006, the Comand system also thinks it is located back in Germany. Came down to 4 choices. 1) Attempt to have it repaired in a private shop; MBLN knew of one, the head unit would be out of the car for about a month. 2) Find a used one. 3) Buy a factory warranted rebuilt one. 4)Buy a new one. I picked option 3 through the dealer so they did the removal, install and provided a full warranty. My memory might be off but I recall it costing about $700 with a 20% discount.

wow good old to know I will probablyy look for a used unit, any insight on which to buy do I have to program it to my car for it to work! I have a xentry program for my car will that do it?

I used the dealer so my insight into the details of the replacement is limited. I believe a head unit from any 2005 through 2008 SL should work. Hopefully someone else can detail what is required for the swap and coding.
