Making the vents functional

Has anyone given any thought to modifying the hood and/or fender vents functional. Seems it wouldn't take too much effort to route ducting that would allow under hood heat to exhaust out.

have you attempted to make your vents functional? Curious because I would like to try this with my car. It bothers the **** out of me when people ask about them and I have to say they’re fake. And they ask a lot.

But the car is designed to flow air a certain way with those vents closed. All air comes in the front and out the bottom. If you introduce a new path you may disrupt the airflow at speed and actually take away cooling performance. Not saying you will, but without testing, it's all guesswork.

very true and I would kick myself in the *** forever if I screwed up my car. I was reading tho, some cars have fender vents to extract air from the front wheel well and I figured that would be the easiest/least harmful spot to vent the fender to rather than under the hood. Still not for sure if I would even attempt something like that. Not sure if I could ever bring myself to take my power tools to my car or not haha. Just a thought. Thanks for the input!

Mine really extract a lot of heat. You can see it coming out of the vents. I'm fairly certain that it is lowering the under hood temps which is important on the V12 models.
