rear spoiler indentation....plz help
I just noticed a small, symmetrical indentation near the passenger's side exhaust. It has no scratches or other marks which i could see. I never noticed it before and only saw it when picking something up off the floor behind the car. Does anyone else have this or is this damage?

I have the same indentation on my 2004 SL55. If you look further behind the indentation you will see a small plastic drop down flap that gives you excess to something. Once you see it, its hard not to see it again. Which i had not seen it.

It's the cover for the towing eye so that when you drive it off the road, the tow truck can attach to something solid to pull you out.
It is quite low down, but I agree it looks like you've backed up into something, I had exactly the same thought when I first noticed it.

It's to allow the towing eye bolt to be screwed in and a typical towing hook to be attacted without fouling the bumper cover. That said, it you're trying to put the car out of a ditch, scratching the rear bumper is not going to be an issue compared to what's happened up front.....
