hey everyone. So I have an issue. I got the sl63 rear bumper and I am trying to do the swap. But when I took it to my shop, he said that their is a computer box on the drivers left side by the trunk and tail light and he has to disconnect that to swap bumpers. So he couldn’t swap it. I tried looking on the forum the best I could but couldn’t find anything. Paint is done. I just need to install.
Is that true? Any advice anyone has? Thank you so much!

Obviously dont know what they are doing and too lazy to try. Find another body shop. No problems putting one on. Maybe you have some stereo or radar parts in your car?

I’ll try to find another body shop then. Do you know what needs to come off to swap bumpers
I'm looking to do this as well, haven't even begin to look at how to remove the old bumper first. i'm a DIYer, i don't take the car to the shop for any reason, it's hard to find any information on this car, youtube has nothing, just a video of a guy pointing at what to do without actually doing anything so i can't see what to take off. only 1 vid.

you have to take the whole trunk carpet out, then you will see screws etc. The main under body pan needs to be cut to shorten so you dont have to buy the newer part. The rest of the inner parts have to be the newer versions. Its straightforward job
