Want to buy 63 but hardly find one with PP and distronic. How hard to retrofit dtr?
I am looking for a SL63 with performance package, distronic and non-wood interior trim. I’ve been searching in autotempest, autotrader, cl, carguru and cars.com but haven’t found a suitable one.
I think I have to give up maybe one or two of these criteria and retrofit lacked ones afterwards. I have done researches on the difficulty and cost of changing interior trims and modifications that make the car almost same as one with PP.
So the question now is how difficult is it to retrofit distronic? What is the estimated cost? It seems that it’s harder to find preowned distronic components than to find PP steering wheels, LSD, and rims.

Distronic retrofits are nearly impossible. The problem is the coding. You can physically fit the parts, but having the access to update the VeDoc and then get the correct SCN coding in every module that's affected is a hassle. It's not possible here in the US through a dealer, but I see you aren't in the US so it might be easier for you. Non-wood trim is rare but easy to swap in and out if that's the case. I'd rather have OEM distronic and dark wood trim, than no Distronic.
