Does anyone know how the spring for the driver's side cupholder gets installed? I took my cupholders out to repair a broken piece of plastic... when i mistakenly tried to open the top of the mechanism, the cupholder sprang out and now i don't know how it goes back in... anyone ever take theirs apart or know how the spring attaches? My best guess is that the smaller of the two spring loops go into the cupholder... something like the pic shown. Beyond that, i'm lost.... no matter how i fenagle it, it doesn't go in properly.
After endlessly playing with it... i was able to get it back to what i think was it's original position. Looking at the cupholder from the bottom, i attached a string to the sprint end that has the larger hole. I fished the string through the hole that is close to the middle of the holder and pulled the spring over.... then pushed the cupholder all the way in until it was in place. See pic. Hope this helps anyone that might need to take theirs apart to repair or clean.
