ABC filter
Had a problem recently with what looked like a leak from the top of the ABC reservoir .
After looking into it , found that the filter was totally blocked , weird since this was changed
maybe 6/7 months ago . So a blocked filter made what seemed to be pressure inside the
reservoir , forcing the fluid to find a way out . Replaced the filter and all seems OK now .
Just wondering what can block this filter like that . Total blockage .
I will look into it and post any findings .

Sure had the ABC white light on . After changing the filter , error gone and all back to normal .
Fluid still OK , was changed a year ago . Only 4/5000 miles on it .

If the filter was clogged, it must be metal shavings. If so, you are about to have a plethora of issues. The hydraulic valve bodies will get dirty and or clogged so the car will sink upon resting. The pump will fail.to put out enough pressure. So, you put a new pump on and the new pump will be destroyed by the metal shavings from the old pump.
Install an inline magnetic filter on the return side.rigjt before the ABC fluid reservoir. Buy 2 filters and change when your.pump fails. It will probably start dominoing soon due to the metal in the system. Sucks, been there done that.

Quick update on the above . It was the rear accumulator gone bad .
Replaced that and no more fluid pushing out of the reservoir .
apparently if any of your two accumulators go bad , this is
what you'll get . Pressure building up in the ABC reservoir and
forcing the fluid out .
