No acceleration
I'm experiencing an acceleration (or lack of) issue after pressing gas pedal to floor. During a a little highway race I floored it, released the pedal a little to let the dude catch up, but then when I pressed the gas pedal again, there was very little acceleration. I switched to the other tranny positions, S, W because I was in Manual and no acceleration in any position. I pulled over turned car off and restarted, then all was normal again. Anyone have any ideas? The factory already replaced the accelerator, so it shouldn't be that. Could any of the accelerator position sensors be the culprit? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the "charge air cooling circulation pump" commonly referred to as the IC pump. The original pump was upgraded by MB as it suffered the symptoms you describe. The solution is to upgrade it the the newer Bosch pump, model 0 392 022 010

ue 1 - RESOLVED - During the test drive I was sure at one point I put my foot down and there was very little power, I mentioned it to the seller who tried to make me think it was in my head until it happened again. The issue was this, after 2/3 stong pulls I would give it some and the car seemed to perform like a 2.0ltr non-turbo - 90% power loss. After a few mins of normal driving and trying again it would work again. From other online I was pretty certain it was the Intercooler Pump and a build-up of heat causing the ecu to reduce power to preserve the engine. So this was changed for the newer Bosch one. On removal it seems it had never been changed, and after testing was found to be completely dead. New pump in and all the power is back plus some! happy days!
Sounds to me you guys need to change your IC Pump. Its very common,
