Camshaft position sensor
Hey all ... I’m going nuts here my car went dead with popular crankshaft position failure now it’s telling me camshaft position failure and I can’t for the life of me figure out how to get the damn thing out !! lol the crank was easy but there is two lines and a pulley in the way of the camshaft senor and I know there had to be a trick to get that bolt out but can’t find anything online any help would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance ..

I'm certain that no competently-engineered scan tool is telling you that your camshaft position sensor has failed. I presume the engine management controller software has set a code because it isn't receiving a proper signal from the position sensor, and this could be due to faulty controller hardware, wiring, or a stretched timing chain as well as the sensor.

Pull the cam pos sensor connectors off and check for presence of oil. Common on 201x era MBs.

After the headbolts job and after i replaced the lockplates in the phasers, i 'mgetting the error P0019, the dealer where i took the car said that can be the phasers, i exchanged the position sensor left to right
and the error still persist, so it is not the sensor, i do not see any reason to think is the solenoid nor the timing chain,
Any suggestion before i dismantle the 2 exhaust camshafts and exchange the phasers to see if the error switches to the right bank?
