WannabeRacer.com | Interior trim gloss silver vinyl wrap over old wood trim
Overview:
- Gloss black roof vinyl wrap
- Gloss silver 3M 1080 G251 interior trim vinyl wrap
For this silver Mercedes SL55 AMG, we vinyl wrapped the roof in gloss black and then also vinyl wrapped over the original wood trim on the interior of the car with 3M 1080 G251 gloss silver vinyl wrap. Doing these two things really updated the look of the car. The gloss black roof gave the car a slightly more aggressive look, while the silver on the interior trim of the car gave it a more modern and sporty feel. The silver finish on the interior really complimented the exterior color of the car fairly well. The owner of this car was in Newport Beach Orange County and I came out to them to do the wrap work.

If you need some help, let me know. I did do this particular SL a while back, so I don't remember off hand exactly how everything comes apart. However, for the most part, everything did come apart pretty easily. If you are handy, it shouldn't be a problem taking it apart. It's a bit trickier than newer cars, but nothing too crazy.

Looks really good! When i was looking for a SL55 i wanted the car with the aluminum interior trim pieces but no such luck.
So how long does this vinyl hold up for? Pretty sure i could do the door trim pieces, but the center console, not so much. do you offer ship your part in for wrapping?

Super clean work! I wish I didn’t suck so bad at vinyl wrapping
what type of vinyl did you use for the roof? Looks very clear and glossy! I’ve used the 1080 gloss black a few times, but was Never satisfied with the appearance - not black enough, poor reflections

With the 3M 1080 material, sometimes it requires a post treatment with a heat source. Vinyl will never be 100% glossy as real paint, but it gets you close for what it is.
