Hi Walter,
nice to see you here too. And in SPA next weekend with your new toy. I'll take my videocam with me, so we can shoot a lot of nice scenes.

'04 SL55
Congrats!
Walter, first congratulations on the 65. I own a '04 SL55 and am interested in your thoughts on: 1) is the added horsepower/torque noticable? 2) at what RPM do the turbos kick in (or is the lag noticable?) 3) Does the added weight affect handling in any way?

Difference SL55 - SL65
Hello "Ivpinny"
To your questions;
1) I had the possibility to drive the SL55 on a race track (Le Castellet) in June this year. It is an amazing car, very fast and excellent handling. Indeed you can recognise the increased horspowers / torque.
2) There is absolute no delay in reaction, and power is available from idle rpms.
3) The handling (for my point of view, and experience) is really amazing - I had a SL500/R230 before - and the SL65 has a better roadholding and ability to enter turns much better.
Overall, the performance of this car is amazing me, every day - when I take it out of the garage, for a trip in the countryside.
kind regards from France

Sound
Hello AMGBenz
If you the sound of the SL55 is more likely a Big Block engine - the SL65 is more aggresive (but not as hard as a F575). It is hard to describe, but soon I will launch my website dedicated to the SL65 with pictures, Videos, and much more.
I'll keep you all posted about this project.
wish you all a good morning from France
