Adding a powered sub

Just installed the MR12V bluetooth on 05 SL55 with Bose and removed the CD changer leaving the cubby more spacious. The sound is surprisingly good over Bluetooth. I see there are small powered subs (JBL Nano for instance) that has dimensions small enough for that now empty cd changer cubby. Question is- on the factory amp which colors of the exiting wires are for the door woofers? Thinking I could just tap into them at the amp.

From my understanding of the system, that should not work. The larger door driver really isn't a woofer and is better described as a midrange. The necessary bandpass filtering is done inside the amplifier before its power output stage, and there are no crossover components on the door drivers. Therefore, your powered subwoofer wouldn't receive the audio band frequencies it is designed to reproduce.

Your vehicle already has a subwoofer, and it is located in the passenger footwell. If you want more "oomph", can't you simply crank-up the bass setting on COMAND?
