Fuel pump pressure

While ideling my pressure at the rail is 49psi ,strange noise in rear of car after about 12 miles of travel something groaning/pulsating I did already change the ABC pulsation damper but sound is still there. If I pull to roadside and let idle noise starts to subside but they engine begins to shake violently and stalls I am thinking fuel pump ? Takes numerous times to restart. I am original owner 2003 sl55 just hit 10,000 miles.

Thanks for your help

Sounds like it could be. I just changed my fuel pump and filter on 05 55. A pain but if you diy and have questions let me know. With fuel filter removed (much easier of the 2) and out of the way the pump slid out that direction. My pump worked but was leaking.

This tool from menards made removing factory crimped hose clamps much easier. It’s a tight place to work.
