Strange noise coming from the transmission
Hello!
Long time lurker, I've had my SL55 since March of last year. I noticed a strange noise randomly before some work travel in February, then this COVID stuff hit, so the car's been parked.
When the car warms up and you're driving between 15 & 50 MPH, this noise happens. The cadence of the noise doesn't change with engine speed or vehicle speed. I can down gear and the sound stays the same. I can speed up and it stays the same until I hit freeway speeds and it goes away. Ordered a dip stick, fluid level is fine, smells fine, doesn't look burnt.
It's there when going slow through my neighborhood, I can feel it in the shifter, too, but goes away when slowing down to go over the speed bumps
I plan on putting it on a lift to investigate, but wanted to drop this here in case anyone has input.
