My SOS still leaves a warning so I can deal with this if necessary.

Yes it can be coded out so it thinks it has conventional suspend like the SL350

We (my installer and I) are in the middle of a coilover (Silver's NEOMAX) and swaybar (VVK) conversion. We are doing the powersteering pump replacement and have run into an issue.
In the attached pictures you will see that the location of the high pressure port (red circle) is further aft on the one installed on the car as opposed to the low pressure port (blue circle). On the replacement pump it seems that the high pressure port (again red circle) is forward of the low pressure port (again blue circle). Additionally, the high pressure line in the car seems to be fixed in its location by a bolt/mount (yellow arrow) that does not allow it to be simply relocated.
How did you guys do it?

VVK did my install, but I can go by my car tonight and take a picture if you've not resolved this by then. Maybe it would be helpful?

I just did power steering on my SL55. I used the S500 power steering reservoir, You just need to tap or use self tapping bolt on the oil filter housing. Watch the length as you don't want to bottom out the bolt in the hole.

I ran the high pressure line without bending the steel part. I don't like the way it hangs on the pump without support so I plan to either make a bracket to support the line or make a up a new line. For now I just attached the line then modified one of the ABC line supports that attach to the engine oil pan to support the line.

I have noticed looking at other models in the junk yard MB used banjo bolt when they didn't have a line support at the connection.

Copy all...we too are resolving/fine tuning the install. Good ideas above.

? My whole system is out/gutted BUT I got the red ABC warning on start-up. Maybe it will just go away after a few miles BUT right now I cannot toggle past it?
I will visit my independent with STAR soon if I cannot band-aid this.

I just had the dealer pull the plug on the ABS module. No red warning, just the white one at start-up which you just toggle past

I don't see any #s on the fuse listing...is it 13 from front or 13 from back?

Did you mean ABC or ABS? Isn't ABS brakes?
My complete ABC is gone...so I don't really understand your comment...nothing plugged in (unless you really meant ABS?).

I am still waiting whether he will do the replacement pump for SL65. Mine still using tandem pump
We do actually have the V12 specific power steering pump available now.

The package includes pump with the correct 7rib pulley, correct diameter, correct hose size and then we designed a CNC milled aluminum rear bracket plus a laser cut forward bracket to mount using original V12 holes and bolts. I've seen a modified V8 pump work, but it does not have the 7rib belt so you lose 14% or the hose connection, and the V12 won't let you run a reservoir on the engine like on V8's.

$465 includes everything pictured so you can ditch your V12 pump and maybe even sell it on eBay for a couple hundred.

The bolt should be M6x16mm, definitely don't use a self tapper. We normally include the bolt with our kit which switches to the engine-mounted reservoir.

The E-class and several others run a line straight down from the normal fitting, banjo doesn't really make it stronger. The support bracket is there to steady the hardline which sits further back on the ABC pump. The installations we've done here, we twist that section about 10degrees so it lines up. We don't attempt to cut the support bracket off, so to avoid damaging the line.

Working on a simple hydraulic line that runs straight from the pump to the rack, E-class style. The E-class part would fit great, but unfortunately Merc used ORB on the R230, and Banjo on the W211. Only God knows why haha.

Random FYI, the R230 is basically an E-class. I'm super curious to try a W211 crossmember in the front of my car.
