SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: same v8 engine block are shared among SL SLK SLR (differences in komp. and internals)

Actually I would say the block is the same or very similar for all of them. However only SLR and SL have a supercharger, and I think each would have it own internals, but no too sure.

Engine block
Hello Members
I had the possibility to visit the engine manufacturing for SLR at Affalterbach in the first floor ( where SLR and SL65 are built). The block of the SLR is defenetely different than a SL55 block.
As well the system of lubrification (wet sump) is different of the SLR engine. Not to mention all the rest.
Unfortunately it is not allowed to take pictures over there - but if you ever had the possibility to go there ( to pick up your new car) it is a MUST to see this.

wouldnt it be cool to get an SLR block and put it on your SL55 or E55... im sure there are little differences but its still an M113 block!!

Nah I think your talking about ARAL. Don't know if its an advertising thing or if they are good lubricants, but on the Brabus sight they repetitively mention their use of ARAL stuff. Never heard it from Mercedes or AMG.
