Inner CV Shaft Boot
Evening all,
I noticed while installing my exhaust that my passenger inside cv boot has a small hole in it and has been slinging grease over everything. From what I can find, there’s not a spilt boot available for it, so I need to dismantle the axle and put on a new solid one. Looks to be part number A2203570191
Do I understand this correctly?
As always, Thanks!
Myles

Just sold my '11 Porsche TurboS cab for an '03 SL55!
I haven't done the job on an SL, but yes, typically to replace the boots you need to pull and remove the axel. If you intend to keep the car, and depending on its age and miles, you may want to consider doing all 4 boots at the same time, and cleaning/re-lubing the CV joints too. It's a messy, dirty job and the graphite greases are really black. Consider starting with all of the necessary SS ring clamps and clapping tools on hand as well as good degreasing pans, brush and at lease a gallon of solvent. ALSO......several sets of surgical gloves. Or pay an independent likely 6+ hours labor.
