Used ABC parts

I have already started working with Arnot about the struts but is there any value in some of the other components?
My ABC/steering pump is in good shape and the metering blocks and pressure “eggs” seem fine…is there any market for those pieces?

Hey Tomcat - I'm getting neomax coil overs installed on my SL55 this week and appreciate you mentioning that Arnot's does buy used struts from our SL's which is great to hear.

Seems pretty straight forward from their website how the process works but I wanted to ask how was your experience sending your used struts back and if you received the full $200 per strut as they mention below?

I emailed Jeffery Riddle <jeffery.riddle@arnottinc.com> and he attached 4 labels to his reply. I tried to put more than one in a box BUT they were heavy and I just cut carboard boxes & some bubble wrap/taped them up individually.
Ps-did you do swaybars too (I did VVK)

super helpful thanks Tomcat.... I'll contact Arnotts and plan to ship my 4 struts in and see what comes of it...

i didnt do a sway bar YET because i went with the Silvers Neomax kit and they reiterated several times that their kit doesnt require a sway bar. my installer said we could install a sway bar later if we feel its needed and if so, then I'd probably get the VVK bar since that seems to be the only one that fits the SL55

I was glad I did swaybars at the same time (labor) and wish (with 20/20 hindsight) I had done motor/transmission mouts...but ultimately that would have been pretty expensive and I did not really need mounts at first.
I will be interested in your feelings without sway bars. I like to hit on/off ramps pretty aggressively so I put them on.

Yeah i probably will regret not doing the sway bar right now, but my SL55 is a 4th car that i dont drive more than 1-2k miles per year so I figured it was better to put that money into my motor mounts since they were collapsed and my indy guy replaced them since he had the car on the lift. I'll get my car back next week and will give you my impressions as I'm just elated to NOT have anxiety any more wondering when the ABC malfunction would appear and have the car spew pentosin all over my garage floor !!

Cool! I am moving to a house with less garage and am keeping the SL55 so it will get MORE use...and I 100% agree that no ABC (in a higher mileage/age AMG) is lower anxiety.
